About PluThon

PluThon is an Eclipse Ganymede-based product that provides support for developing Python applications for maemo. PluThon does NOT require Scratchbox. Developers run and debug applications directly on a maemo device, speeding up the development time.

PluThon may be used on all major platforms (Linux, Win32, Mac OS X). Maemo 4.1 Diablo and 5.0 Fremantle SDKs are supported (older versions may work as well).

In PluThon 2^nd edition, you can:

• Develop on both N800, N810, and N900 Maemo devices
• Install PluThon from a full product archive, or install using Eclipse Update Sites
• Run on latest Ubuntu distribution, Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X Leopard (Intel)
• Easily connect to your device with predefined connections for USB, WLAN, and Bluetooth
• Autoconfigure Python interpreter settings
• Use SBRSH to launch projects without copying them to device
• Explore your device using the Remote System Explorer
• Flash latest device images to your Maemo device
• Generate setup.py script to create Debian packages
• More easily generate and install Debian packages
